OTHER PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

Information Services:

We maintain a library of reference materials on occupational health and safety issues including weekly updates of OSHA related information.  Through our newsletter, targeted educational mailing, and mass media, we provide information on occupational health and safety issues to our membership and the general public.

Technical Assistance:

By phone and in person, we provide referrals, advice and answers to questions about workplace hazards, occupational diseases, health and safety regulations, Workers’ Compensation, and related topics.  We work on an ongoing basis with unions, individuals, and health and safety committees to help them address these health and safety hazards.  We engage safety consultants to address specific health and safety problems.

Community Mobilization:

In addition to training, information, and technical assistance, RoCOSH provides staff support to empower union and community members (through such efforts as our RoCOSH Injured Workers Group support program) to bring about changes in attitudes and beliefs which will lead to more humane societal and organizational practices that can eliminate or reduce workplace health and safety problems.

RoCOSH receives numerous grants that allow us to provide many of our training programs at no cost.  However, we may have to charge a minimal fee for certain training if they are not part of a specific grant.
