Pittsford Community Church LEAH, is both the homeschool ministry of Pittsford Community Church & a chapter of
NYS LEAH (Loving Education at Home). As with all New York State LEAH chapters, support to Christian families who have chosen to homeschool their children is offered. As a church ministry, a more well rounded support system for family ministry and homeschooling exists for those who attend PCC, but thePCC LEAH chapter membership is open any Christian homeschooling family in the greater Rochester community.

We understand that our member families have responded to God’s call in their lives to homeschool their children. The calling may be for different reasons and periods of time (grade school, all grades, or one year) but God’s calling gives each parent the conviction and resolve to see their children’s education through while relying on Jesus the ultimate homeschool support provider.
PCC LEAH understands that a good support group is one resource that a homeschool family will need throughout your homeschool calling. As a ministry, we aim to keep an administrative framework in place that will allow families to find resources and support amongst each other. Chapter activities are accomplished with the underlying principle that PCC LEAH is a servant ministry, not a service organization. Member families, as their own time and needs for activities allow, give out of the abundance of their homeschool to other chapter families.
For example: A family wants to do a field trip to the Foodlink Hydroponics greenhouse as a part of their science studies. They offer the field trip to other chapter families through our chapter communications tools (group mail & calendaring). The family accomplished their homeschool objective while providing support to other families in the chapter.
PCC LEAH member families benefit from these combined administrative functions of the leadership board & the volunteer efforts of other member families:
Chapter meetings –parent support meetings that focus on topics of interest related to homeschooling, family life, parenting, etc..We encourage couples to come together...even plan it as a date night!
Friday C0-op – 2 sessions of classes taught by member parents and a few professionals.
Prayer ministry – Moms pair up to pray for chapter families needs, chapter activites, and homeschooling issues in the news.
Project and Presentation Day – Chapter wide event with student presentations of students' work.
Care Share Nights – Mentoring and support nights on the paperwork and legal side of homeschooling.
Dads Breakfast and Moms Night out-small group support among just dads or just moms.
Annual Used Curriculum Sale-blessing each other through gently used, affordable curriculum
Special Events –New Homeschooler Workshop, Teaching Workshops, Special Regional Events ie: National Speakers and Regional Student Art Show, Harvest Party, Game Night, High School Formal...
PCC LEAH’s support is lead by a board of member families (click here to see board member list ) who develop and maintain the administrative structure so that these support activities can be effective.

Pittsford Community Church LEAH Chapter – Summary
Size: 120 families and growing for 11-12 year (Membership last year was 100 families)
Meeting Location - Pittsford Community Church, 421 Marsh Rd., Pittsford, NY
Leadership - The Chapter is organized and lead by a board of 5 member families and one couple as chapter leaders.
Programs: We have a full schedule of chapter activities through out the year. Additionally these supplemental programs are available as families step up to lead them.
Book It!, RCT plays, Box Tops for Education collections for gym equipment, Campbells Soup label collections, God's World News and World Magazine subscriptions, Scholastic book orders, Darien Lake, Roseland Water Park, Seabreeze homeschool days.
Pittsford Community Church L.E.A.H. is a ministry of P.C.C. and a chapter of N.Y.S. L.E.A.H., Inc.(Loving Education at Home).
L.E.A.H. is a Christian organization, made up of Christian home schooling families. This chapter is open to membership from within and outside PCC and members must agree to the L.E.A.H. statement of faith. The group offers support and fellowship to the homeschooling parents and activities and relationships with the homeschooled children that complement and build upon the parent's homeschooling goals. Anyone desiring involvement in a homeschool support group or wanting to learn more about home education is welcome to attend a meeting or event. Call to find out about what may be coming up that is appropriate to visit. Membership in PCC L.E.A.H. is required to be part of the educational activities, Friday co-op and field trips.
