This is the plaque that gives a quick explanation of the invasion
of the Ploesti. B-24's were the bomber of choice for this raid.
My Gramps, a B-24 tail gunner, was one of the lucky few who came back.
He is now gone and I was not smart enough to ask him about this or other
experiences. I wish I had that opportunity again.
