My Gramps was a tail gunner on the B-24. He died before I was smart enough to ask him about his experience in W.W.II. I wish I had that opportunity again. There are probably a lot of lost stories. The only thing I know is that he was in the Ploesti invasion (next picture) and one of the few who made it back.
