Mellville Clark Apollophone
mellclrk2.jpg Player-piano sales took a dramatic decline with the invention of the disc phonograph. As an attempt to regain some of the market, Melville Clark incorporated a phonograph in a player piano. The top of the spoolbox is actually the horn of the phonograph. There were even records and music rolls sold as a set that were intended to be played together.
