Kumu Victoria Ka'iulani Visiko
 
Kumu Victoria Ka'iulani Visiko has dedicated her life to perpetuating the Hawaiian Culture through Hula, Music and the Cultural Arts of the Hawaiian people.  
 
Ka'iulani began her hula training in 1965 with Auntie Camille in New York State. In 1980, Auntie Camille gave her blessing to Ka'iulani to perpetuate the Hawaiian Culture through teaching.
 
She attends many Hawaiian Hula and music workshops every year, including: E Pili Kakou and Kaua'i Music Festival. Kumu Ka'iulani has been influenced by Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, Keali'i Ceballos, Sonny Ching, Charles Kaupu, Kealoha Kalama, Leialoha Amina Lim, Michael "Keala" Ching. She has enjoyed learning from all of them.
 
Ka'iulani studied with Kumu Hula Mapuana de Silva for a year. She is looking forward to continuing her studies with Auntie Mapuana to help perpetuate the teachings of Auntie Ma`iki Aiu Lake.
 
In 2001, Kumu Ka'iulani opened Gallery Kaua'i, Center for Hawaiian Studies & Performing Arts in Rochester, NY with her husband Kimo Knox who plays traditional Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar. He also plays Ukulele, Ipu Heke & Tahitian drums and many other instruments.
Kimo is Music Director at Gallery Kaua'i.
 
Every summer, Kimo, Ka'iulani and keiki (children) go to Hawai'i to immerse in the culture and be with many friends...ohana.
They hold workshops on Kaua'i in Hula and Slack Key Guitar for their students in the summer.
 
Kimo & Ka'iulani have been performing together since their teenage years! They perform at over 150 events a year on the Mainland and in Hawai'i.  Kimo & Ka'iulani are also songwriters and recording artists.
 
Gallery Kaua'i has haumana (students) from all different backgrounds (ages 4-80).  Their aloha is the same for Hula and Hawai'i.

Victoria Ka'iulani in NYC:
Victoria worked in NYC where she directed Off Broadway theatre for many years. She has a BA degree in Theatre from Nazareth College
& has studied with Betty Buckley, the Royal Shakespeare Co. & others. She taught acting in NYC & NJ studios.
While in NYC, Victoria also studied Modern Dance at the Martha Graham School & Steps Dance Studio.
