| Membership will be
required to access the property, during regular business
hours, and almost anytime with an appointment. Several
different kinds of memberships will be offered. A variety of
year round activities. Also regular and special tours will
be offered to members. Members will have a place to come to
picnic, hike, or jog for the ambitious. With over ten miles
of truck paths and as many miles of footpaths, it will take
a lot of visits to see it all. Life is very abundant here
and wildlife observation and photography is encouraged. Some
seasonal activities for members with there own equipment,
such as cross country skiing, kayaking, and canoeing from
Nettle Creek into Nettle Lake .
Primitive camping, in limited numbers,
will be offered. Also a few small cabins, Hogan's,
longhouses and
teepees may be offered in the future, available to
members at an additional cost. Monthly Wildlife walks will
be scheduled. A new walk will be taken each month. With the
constantly changing seasons and a different course taken
every time, no two field trips will ever be alike.
Special tours will also be planned through out the year,
besides monthly wildlife walks. These special tours would
include:
- Bird Walks - Should be able to have several of
these. I like sunrise in the summer.

- Wildflower Walks - Two or three in the spring.

- Antler Walks - Early spring a great way to
shake off the cabin fever by looking for whitetail
sheds. Current antler
finds.

-
Morel Mushroom Hunts - One or two in spring.
- Expert Tours - Experts from most any field
(forestry, environment, ecology, outdoor survival,
edible and medicinal plants, etc.) come and tell us how
it is.
- Butterfly Walks - The Butterflies are thick in
late summer.

- Fall Colors Tour - Hay ride, bonfire. Click
here to visit our fall colors photo gallery.
Archaeological Tour - Nettle Lake is rich in Native
American History. We will be conducting surface hunts
and a few salvage digs. Possible exploratory digs in
known campsites.
- Nettle Lake History Tours - A tour around the
lake, highlighting its history, and man's impact on this
area.
