Comments: The first permanent settlement in Northfield, VT was made by Amos and Ezekiel Robinson and Stanton Richardson in May 1785.
The first town meeting was held at the home of Dr. Nathaniel Robinson March 25, 1794. He was elected Town Clerk and held that office until his death.
Amos and Ezekiel were two of the selectmen; Ezekiel, one of the listers.
   Amos was the first representative in the legislature of 1801. Dr. Nathaniel Robinson settled a little NW of what was later the poor farm in the Robinson District, was buried at East Hill Cemetery at the Four Corners. Represented Northfield in the State Legislature.
