For the record (and the sake of the non-American puzzlers), this is the Liberty Bell from Independence Hall in Philadelphia, and is historically associated with the first public reading of our Declaration of Independence from England. There is more at http://www.ushistory.org/libertybell/index.html, and even if the history of the Bell has little interest for you, you can download a MIDI file of the Liberty Bell March by John Phillips Sousa, which has ironically reentered our cultural memory as the theme song from a British television show that invaded our own public television stations.
Notes: This took ten minutes or so for me. I was interested in the fact that in the course of my solution, I managed to finish the diagonal several minutes before the rest of the puzzle, but kept going anyway. Waste of time, or important check of my work? Hmmm....
