I am not a big fan of sunsets. Infact, I avoid them like the plague. The reason for this is that they are so over done and very easy to create. There is very little the photographer has to do other than just snap the picture. This one is a little different. There are two different influences in this shot. One is your basic abstract expressionism/minimalism vibe. The other aspect is the work of Maxfield Parrish. I was familiar with his work but never had a chance to study it before I had a chance to light an exhibition of his work when I was the lighting guy for the Memorial Art Gallery.
