Lectures and Seminars (2009/2010)...

The following are lectures and seminars being offered at the Morgan-Manning House except as noted. Talks present a variety of historical, artistic and social perspectives related to the Brockport area.

All programs begin at 7:30 PM

Sep. 17, 2009    "Man and Machine Make Glass" - Don Hall

Don will talk about the two methods of making glass: blown glass and molded glass. He will use slides to illustrate his talk. The public is invited to bring in glass, almost any kind is suitable.

Oct. 22, 2009    "The Seymour Library: Central to Local Democracy and Community Vitality" - Cassie Guthrie

Cassie Guthrie, Director of the Seymour Library, will give a power point presentation giving us the history of public libraries in the US, focusing on our town library and her vision for the future.

Nov. 12, 2009     "The Country Barn Quilt Trail " - Lora Partyka

Through a power point presentation, Lora will take us on a visit of the many quilt patterns found painted on barns, throughout Orleans County.

Mar. 12, 2010     "Historic Photos of New York State " - Richard Reisem

Author Richard Reisem will present to us his recently published book. With more than 200 rare photographs of the past, this book illustrates more than 100 years of New York State's history, ending with a race riot in Harlem in 1960
