From the Director of Communications

The match with The Cows being canceled due to inadequate ice conditions, members of the Ice Bats still flew around the ice in a 3-on-3 scrimmage.
Orville Novak, Bud Bakkonnen, Killer Koshiol, Sure Hands Shurhamer, and Paul E. Dangerously survived the brutal training regimen of fill-in "Coach of the Future" Boomer Antila.
Antila played task master and had the troops run through a series of military boot-camp style drills.
Earlier in the evening, amidst rumblings of management conflicts and equipment purchasing disputes, GM Jumpin Jim Lemire and Coach Shakes Hanson, were broken apart in a scuffle during a pre-game kickoff celebration at Adrian's by Bat newcomer Mini Van Mohlis.
The three were not in any shape to partake in the scrimmage so GM Lemire gave Hanson, Mohlis, and himself the night off.

The Story Behind the Story

Jim Lemire after reported incapacitating fight

After the scrimmage, the tavern talk at Adrian's was filled with a lust and lore of a simpler time when all of the team members worked for the same employer and recalled shared experiences and also how the Bats would have made mince-meat of The Cows.
Bud Bakkonnen trying to one-up Orville Novak in a game of "what have you done lately", had claimed to have written his own Internet.
The evening ended as the bartender gleefully told the Bat patrons, "why don't you folks leave right now before I call the police".
