Ice Bats Slip in Season Finale

Lose to R-Squad 9 to Zero

The Ice Bats seemingly surprised to see an opponent show up for a game, after two forfeits, were quickly overcome by the R-Squad.

The Ice Bats seemed to find the slippery snow ice covered more difficult to handle than their opponents. And with a rusty Robin "Chef" Cook in goal for the first time this season the Bats found themselves down by four goals after 5 minutes.

Cook settled down for a while after that and made some good saves but it was too late.

But the Ice Bats were outplayed by the R-Squad who controlled the ball and made good scoring chances payoff continuing to build to the nine goal final.

The few Ice Bats scoring opportunities usually resulted in shots being sent wide of the net.

Paul Wolfram reported he "usually would have had two goals" with scoring opportunities he was given.

The Ice Bats were shocked by post game reports that long time Ice Bats David Hanson and Ross Hedin had suddenly retired just before the game.
