It was a cold night for the Ice
Bats as they dropped their third game in the row. Losing to Da Moose 5 to
    2 in near zero temperatures.
It was an optimistic first half which saw the Bats down 2 to 1 and feeling
like they could make a run at a win if they could continue smart team play.

I-Bats goalie Ross Hedin successfully came out to challenge Mooses
shooters and the defense was able to keep rebounds to a minimum during a crisply
    played first half.

John Harris scored the first Ice Bat goal driving hard to the opposition net
and slamming in a hard low shot.

But the Bats lost focus in the
second half which led to a fatigued play as shift changes became sloppy and
too infrequent. The Ice Bats found themselves collapsing upon their own net
leaving Hedin too little room to operate. This led to a quick pair of deflating
    goals by Da Moose.

A Ice Bat defensive mishap near the end of the half led to Da Mooses
    final fifth goal.

Da Moose relaxed at this point and the Bats were able to score a non-decisive
goal when Paul Wolfram picked up a centering pass from John Harris in front
of the Moose goal that deflected off a Moose broom to Wolfram. Wolfram's shot
on goal was screened by Mike Shepard and the ball sneaked by the Da Moose
goalie making the score 5 to 2.

Wolframs second goal in what for him in his injury shortened season
did not improve his moody presence on the ice and at post game meetings. As
he continued to bark at his teammates about the need to improve his personal
    statistics.
  Ross Hedin provided the evening's
highlight when confiscated six dollars of excessive gratuity from the Arones
beer fund which will be held for next week.
