The SuperBoard is destined to be the most advanced upgrade for the Tandy Color Computer 3 ever! We are excited about this product because it will bring the CoCo 3 to a new level of usability in a number of ways.
Features
- 2MB of RAM! The SuperBoard will utilize two 30-pin 1MB SIMMs, giving the CoCo 3 a total of 2 megabytes of RAM. This RAM will be available from OS-9, and will be a potential goldmine for BASIC users.
- Pro-Tector+ An improved version of our Pro-Tector product will be on-board. In addition to buffering address lines, all other lines to/from the CPU will have Pro-Tector+ protection.
- Dual Port 16C550 UARTs Two high-speed 16C550 UARTs will be available. These UARTS support speeds of up to115K baud, which is attainable under NitrOS-9.
- Parallel Port This bi-directional parallel port doesn't have to be used just for printers. All sorts of interfacing applications will be possible.
- VROM Imagine having eight "virtual" 32K ROMS in your CoCo 3! One could hold BASIC, the other could hold an OS-9 boot ROM, while still another could contain a custom game ROM. This will be a reality with VROM, an expanded FLASH alternative to the CoCo 3's limited 32K PROM.
- Serial EEPROM 512 bytes of serial EEPROM will be available to both OS-9 and BASIC users. This device can be used to store configuration information about the system such as RGB or CMP monitor, slow or fast speed, and numerous other items.
