receive something, you must take it. Salvation is offered as a free gift from God. The Bible says in Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." But like any gift, it is not yours until you receive it. The Bible says in John 1:12, "but as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
