H. The Holy Ghost is the Comforter
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:26–27).

I. The Holy Ghost gives power to God’s people
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

J. The Holy Ghost gives joy to God’s people
“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; butrighteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost”

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spiritof God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned”

III. The Holy Ghost–Agent of Communication
A. The Holy Ghost dictated the Scriptures to human agents
“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (2 Peter 1:21).
