Upon opening the 7th seal (Revelation 8:16), the coronation ceremony begins. It consists of seven trumpet blasts, each accompanied by a judgment of God on a world unwilling to accept the new King. After the last trumpet has sounded, the coronation proclamation is given in Revelation 11:15 as follows: And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever (Revelation 11:15). There is also a final rapture event when the seventh angel sounds his trumpet. This is the last trump rapture that 1 Corinthians 15:5152 and 1 Thessalonians 4:1318 speak of in particular. Revelation 10:7 tells us that when the seventh angel begins to sound the mystery of God, or the Church Age (see Lesson 4 section I. B.), will be finished. Revelation 11:18 tells us that the seventh trump signals that the time of the dead, meaning the resurrection of the righteous dead, has come. It goes on to indicate that the judgment seat of Christ immediately follows. And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth (Revelation 11:18). c. The Judgment Seat of Christ This is the next event listed after the last trump coronation proclamation. This judgment involves all the righteous dead and raptured saints up to this point in time. It is concerned only with rewards and various crowns the faithful have earned during their sojourn on Earth. This is the only judgment these people will ever face after this life. 2 Corinthians 5:10; 2 Timothy 4:8; 1 Peter 5:4; Revelation 11:18
