Mommy and Me

 

A class designed for ages 2-3 years to get use to the studio, but still have mom with them. This class starts to teach them a little acro, ballet, and creative songs.

 

Tot Combo

 

This class is designed for the 3 to 5 year old. In this class, they go in by themselves and learn the beginning of basic acro, ballet, and tap. All three are included in the 45 minute class.

 

Kinder Combo

 

This class is for 5 to 6 year old. It involves learning the basics on ballet and jazz. We also do some acro in this class.

 

Beginning Acro, Jazz, Tap

 

These classes are designed for the 6 year old and up. They start to learn the basics and combinations. They remain in these classes for up to 3 years depending on the child. They will be moved to Level I classes per the teacher.

 

Acro I, II, III; Jazz I, II, III; Tap I, II

 

These are the placement classes, which mean the teacher places the child when they are ready to advance. Each level continues to a harder level of instruction.

 

Advanced Classes

 

The classes are for the advanced students at the studio. They have to have excellent technique, able to pick up a dance quickly, and have the grace and style of a good performer.

 

Hawaiian

 

This class is for 6 year olds and above. It teaches the basics of Hawaiian style dances.

 

Contortion I, II

 

This class is for the child who is able to perform a backbend and come out of it. These classes teach chin stands, chest rolls, and etc.

 

Dance Team

 

Each year we have an audition for dancers who want to be on a team. There are 6 different levels depending on ability and age. Each member of the dance team has to sign a contract and take a minimum of 5 classes. The team dancer has to be committed and will perform out, do conventions, and competitions.

 

 

 

DANCE CLASS ATTIRE

 

Proper dance attire is required at the studio.  Dance is about fun and the discipline of dance is to be properly attired to participate in class.  Girls must have their hair in a bun for ballet and pulled off their face in a ponytail for all other classes.  We have a small pro-shop with a selection of leotards, tights, dance clothes and shoes.  This is a service for our studio only.

 

Proper Attire:

TOT COMBO:  Leotard, pink tights, shoes (ballet and tap shoes)(no slipper kind)

 

BEGINNING BALLET LEVELS I AND II:

Leotard – pink, tights – pink and pink ballet shoes.

 

BALLET LEVEL I AND UP

Leotard- black, tights – pink, pink ballet shoes.

Level two and up – split sole pink ballet shoes.

 

JAZZ:

Leotard, dance outfit, no jeans.  Shoes – jazz shoes

 

TAP:

Leotard, dance outfit, no jean pants or shorts.  Shoes - black low heel

 

Hip Hop:

Dance clothes, black jazz shoes or hip hop sneakers.

 

Acro:

One piece leotard. No shoes or socks

 

Other classes:

Dance clothes, shoes-proper ask the class teacher.
