How
Young Is Too Young? Any Child Can Read the Book of Mormon
by Vicki Lynn Rasmussen
Do the words "read the scriptures" bring any of these things to mind: something to look forward to each day; an uplifting experience; an opportunity to learn something; a responsibility; a chore; something hard to remember to do; something hard to find time for; reading that is very difficult; feelings of guilt? The phrase "read the scriptures" can mean many different things to each of us.

Thank you for purchasing the book! If you have not yet done so, please consider giving it as a baby gift for a new mom. What better gift can you give a child than the gift of literacy? As referenced on the back of the book, the author’s royalties will be donated to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund. The book can be ordered at the website above, LDS bookstores, or Wal-Mart locations throughout Utah.
This unique program uses the Book of Mormon to help a child:
·
grow closer to the things of God
·
develop a scripture reading habit
·
learn how to read and write
Helping a child learn or practice reading and writing skills can be a daunting task. But it doesn’t have to be. This little book will give parents or grandparents the skills needed to nurture great readers using a simple scriptural plan—based on the top 50 words used in the Book of Mormon. From a toddler listening to a story being read, to a child beginning to read silently, the three included phases will benefit children of all ages. Watch your child also develop the habit of regular scripture use!
