Many changes have taken place in the past year. The most important one is that Chief Price has retired after twenty seven years of service and dedication to this department. Chief Price has been succeeded by Allen Allcott " Fire 700".
We also lost Captain Terri Anderson. For those that don't know, Captain Anderson had the ability to write and receive government grants, one of which made it possible for Linden Fire to become a full time paid department. Over a period of ten years Captain Anderson was able to write and receive more than one million dollars worth of grants for Linden Fire. Chief Price and Captain Anderson will be missed.
Linden Fire Department is headed by Chief Marilyn Price and was started in 1981. We protected mostly small farms and ranches. In the beginning there was not much more than one old Engine and an old Army gas truck that was used as a Water Tender. Linden Fire has grown quite a bit since then along with the community. We now protect fifty seven square miles with more than a three thousand population and growing every day. Our department is a combination of paid and volunteer firefighters and we have an ISO rating of 7 Dwelling.
