Drug Task Force

The city / county drug task force was assembled in 1988. The task force is a combined effort between the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office and the LeMars Police Department. Members of the task force routinely assist and cooperate with several area jurisdictions and other task forces.

The mission of the task force is to focus primarily on identifying and investigating drug dealers and narcotics violations. The task force has made a significant impact on the area illicit drug market. The task force will continue to make an impact in the future as well. Members of the task force continually receive specialized training and equipment to enhance these investigations.
Ninty-nine percent of the hours spent on task force investigations are away from the officers normal hours. A lot of successful investigations result from tips received from the public.
