Sue Foley & Peter Karp

"She(Foley) serves a rich blend of sensuous vocals and honey-and-lemon guitar playing, rich, sharp and twangy with tastes of Texas and Louisiana." -Mojo Magazine

"He(Karp) personifies the amorphous Americana movement, freely shifting styles to keep listeners guessing, and dancing too. His lyrics combine working-class angst with college educated insight, and a deadly sense of humor that keeps things from getting too dark." This will be the second time through for Foley and they are sure to be playing to a sell out crowd.

In its fifth year, the Black River Valley Concert Series brings to the north country an eclectic mix of music in a splendid venue. Lewis County Historical Society, including its collection of objects and artifacts, is housed in a former Masonic Temple structure. The venue has a two story great room, with comfortable seating for 150, that is accented by cove moulding and indirect, alternating blue and white lights surrounding the room. With the cabaret-style tables, adorned with flowers and tablecloths, and dimmed lighting with blue accents and spotlights, the audience is sure to feel somewhere "other" than Lewis County!
