Effingham County was created by an act of the Illinois
Legislature on
February 15, 1831
Now being updated again!
I have always
enjoyed the history of my home county. In fact I taught American History,
Consumer Economics and Agriculture for my school district Beecher City Unit #
20 until my retirement in 2018. I hope to share some of the past happenings
of my county with those who may be interested in it. If you know of any
information or have any ideas for these pages please let me know. Any
errors or omissions are solely mine and are not intentional.
