"MY" ELECTROLYSIS PROCEDURE

My electrolysis procedure contains the following
1.0     12 volt DC motorcycle battery charger
2.0     3" long stainless steel rod
3.0     Plastic bowl
4.0     A 2" x 2" piece of plastic sheet
5.0    Distilled wate
6.0    Table Salt
7.0    Baking Soda..

WARNING!

DO NOT PROVIDE ELECTRICITY TO THE CHARGER UNTIL
EVERYTHING IS IN PLACE!!

I fill the plastic bowl with distilled water and put in a "liberal" amount of salt into the water.

(Bob Zito recommends using Calcium Carbonate at a 48 to 1 ratio.)

I place the stainless steel rod into the Red Clamp of the Battery Charger ( the rod is obtainable and any metal supply co. or you can use a stainless steel fork etc.) and place that in the water..

I place the "treasure" to be processed the Black Clamp of the Battery Charger. ( I usually clamp a coin on the outside diameter.) and place that in the water.

I then carefully place the plastic sheet as a separator between the Stainless Steel and the Treasure..

WARNING!!!! DANGER! IF THE LEADS TOUCH, THERE WILL BE A SHORT
AND DAMAGE YOUR EQUIPMENT.....

Then after I check that everything is in place, I plug in the battery charger. If everything is correctly connected, you should see air bubbles coming from the coin being processed. This is the impurities being removed from the coin.

Turning off the Charger, I recheck every 5 minutes at first to ensure that the coin is not being detrimentally affected.. I then increase the inspection to every 15 minutes and longer if deemed safe.

When I am satisfied that I have removed all of the impurities etc.. I remove the target and clean it with a little baking soda and water to stop the process. Then I apply a light coat of oil to protect the treasure.

Do not process different materials (clad, copper, silver) in the same water.... Change the Stainless Steel Rod often.
