I finally found some time to charge up the camera and take some pics of the inside of the house. We're still in the process of getting things the way we want them, but we wanted to share our house with you. Check out the pics here.

Our first project in the house was the building of the fireplace surround and mantel. My Dad and I built this over two weekends and learned the ins and outs of cutting compound miters on crown molding. The next phase will be staining and tiling the hearth.

Well, after a lengthy delay, we are finally in the house. We spent the weekend after Thanksgiving moving and this week turning our new house into a home. There are still a few minor things that need to be completed, but we're happy to be here, none the less. I'll try to post more pictures as we continue to put stuff away and decorate.

Looks like we're close to moving in. The interior is in it's final stages and carpet is scheduled to be installed early next week. We're really pleased with how the house looks and can't wait to have friends over to share in our excitement.

The brick work continues to be interesting to watch. This past week, the first of the keystones appeared on the house. Also, interior work has commenced again as the drywall patching is being completed. Hopefully, I'll get around to taking some interior pics soon.

The brick layer has now started on the front of the house. The first of the corner quoins have appeared and look really nice.

The brick on the house is coming along very nicely. One of the back walls has been finished and looks really good!

A nice treat awaited my visit to the house this evening. The first of the bricks have been installed!

After a three week hiatus in DC for work, it looks like I'll be home for a while, The house is moving along and the garage has now been built.

Things are still progressing on the house. It's been a while since I posted any pics, so I have added a few more, including some from the interior.

The house has grown, as all seven pieces have now been set. Final exterior framing, will take place next week. Some pics of yesterday's progress can be found here.

The first two pieces of the house were set today. We've posted some pics of the process and will take some more tomorrow.

It's the eve of the house being set and I snapped a few pics. Parts of the house are in waiting and the tree has been removed to allow for the crane. Tomorrow is the big day and I'll be posting some pics of the event. More pictures of the land and house pieces can be found here.

Yet another surprise awaited me as I drove by the house site today. We now have beams! Pictures are here.

Today's visit to the house site was another treat. The blocks to bring the brick ledge up to the anticipated grade were all laid. Bring on the house and brick!
