Human Reaction Time and Neuron Conduction
Obj:
Use g to determine your reaction time and motor nerve conduction speed
Materials: Meter Stick
Methods
1.  Write a paragraph specifically describing your methods for dropping and catching the meter stick.
Use the average of 5 individual trials to determine your reaction time, t.  Let g = 9.8 m/s2.
2.  Determine the speed of motor neuron conduction in m/s.  Assume that the impulse in the motor neuron traveled from the back of your head to the tip of your index finger.  Thus, measure this distance to find d, then use your reaction time t to find the velocity of the impulse.

On the Computer Spreadsheet Excel

3.  Type in your reaction time and motor neuron speed under the appropriate gender for analysis by your teacher.
