Beam Reunion
The 2001 reunion was well attended. I have heard a lot of good comments about the food, family, and program. A good job by all involved. I will post the minutes if I can get a copy.
The annual John Teeter Beam reunion is scheduled for August 18, 2002 at New Prospect Baptist Church near Shelby, NC.

Nursing Scholarship
Family member Helen Beam, a long-time resident of Orlando, FL and a well-known realtor and land developer in that area, has established Nursing scholarships at Gardner Webb University (Boiling Springs, Cleveland County, NC) and Isotherman Community College (Spindale, Rutherford Co, NC). Helen is a great-granddaughter of David Beam Jr., longtime Clerk of the Superior Court of Rutherford County, and a great-great-great granddaughter of John Teeter Beam. Family members in the Cleveland/Rutherford County area who interested in pursuing a nursing career should inquire at either school.
