Family Reunion
August 1-3, 2003

 2003 Family Reunion Agenda Page

Hi everyone,

Here is an updated "provisional" Agenda!
I say "provisional" because I want to be flexable to adjustment and changes, based on suggestions and advice that I may receive from all of you. Since our "time" together is precious during our Family Reunion I think it wise to stick to some degree of time scheduling. Also in order to save on everyone's time, most of the provisions for the Family Reunion's meals, and activities, will be be taken care of in advance by Jim and Emily. I may ask some of you to bring certain things, such as deck of cards, or miscellaneous portable games, etc.; any one who might want to bring such things please let me know asap.

Thursday, July 31, 2003

Thursday arrivals will check in at their Motel, and then they will be dinner guests at at the home of Jim and Emily.

Additional activities may include some of the following: Watching Old Home Videos; Playing card games; Just visiting; etc..

Friday, August 1, 2003

Friday Arrivals will be checking in at their motel at various times during the day. After getting settled into the motel, they can meet the "group" wherever they may be based on Friday's schedule.

For those who arrive early enough, lunch will be at Jim and Em's, or at some local restaurant some time around noon. If you could confirm your estimated "Arival" time with Jim - this will help determine the location for lunch!

Early arrivals can then meander on over to Jim and Emily's, where they can help prepare for the Friday evening BarBQ. (see menus below). We will move on over to the Westwood Community Park sometime early in the afternoon (see maps for location and directions to this Park). The evening Bar-B-Q will be held at around 5:30 to 6:00 pm. Activities will be mostly as one chooses. Miscellaneous games and things will be provided (Kites, Croquet Set, chairs for sitting and chatting, Cards, and other such things) Also there is a very nice, and fairly new, playground for the younger kids. There is also a baseball field right at the park also, so balls and bats will be available if anyone wants to "play ball".

Saturday, August 2, 2003

Saturday breakfast you are on your own! There are several nice restaurants in Chester, including one right next door to the Chester Manor Motel on the east side, and a small store next door on the west side. There is also a small Cafe and Bakery next door to the Cedar Lodge Motel.

After breakfast we will all meet again at the Westwood Community Park at 10am for competative fun and games, (Possible Croquet Tournament, Tug of war, Water balloon toss, etc.) A light lunch will be served while at this park. Our first "Special Photo time" will be held at this time. Later in the early afternoon those kids who may want to give it a try, and a few adults, may head on over to Lake Almanor for some Water Skiing and Wakeboarding (lessons); I say "may" because the fellow who provides the boat and equipment and lessons does charge for them, (he is a real nice and patient person, and a good friend), so I will need to set up an appointment with him on how many will be participating in this activity. He has only a limited number of seats availble on his boat, so this will be a first-come first-get activity! Others may want to hang out at the beach with the intertubes and wait for a turn on the boat. Meanwhile the rest of us will mosy on over to The Westwood Community Center for some visiting and card and board games and dinner preparation.

Saturday Dinner will begin around 6:45 pm. It will be a Buffet style dinner; (menus will be posted on this web site as soon as I finalize the menu). Our second photo time will be held some time before or after dinner. Special events, such as skits, or "any suggestions", will be held after dinner at the Community center.

Sunday, August 3, 2003

Church for those who will be going to church: Sunday morning Mass is at 9:30am in Chester, or 8:00am in Westwood; (note there is Saturday evening Mass at 5:30pm in Westwood, which ends around 6:20pm; this may be the best time for some of you since our Saturday night dinner does not begin until "around" 6:45pm) CCWw service starts at 10am . Additional info on times of other church services can be found out upon request.

Again you are on your own for breakfast.

Since many of you may be heading home on Sunday, the activities for Sunday will be determined once I know when an who are leaving, or staying, on this day. Visiting local tourist attractions, such as Lassen National Volcanic Park may best be done on this day! Or even on Monday!

Please let me know if you have any questions, ideas, suggestions, etc. !!!!! Looking forward to seeing you all then!!

Jim

THE OLDER "INTRODUCTORY" AGENDA:
Our agenda is still in the making, and is open for suggestions.
I have made a provisional reservation for the Westwood Community
Center on Saturday August 2, 2003, between the hours of 12 noon
and 8:00 pm or later in the evening. This will be where we will have
an informal dinner and a place to visit and hang out, play hearts,
and games, and whatever. I am thinking on reserving a local park
for a BBQ on Friday. Depending on how long you all may spend
here will determine other potential agenda items. Agenda plans
probably need to be finalized by June or July. But what you need
to do now is to make your reservations at a local motel or resort.
My recommendations may be found on the "Accommodations"
page. Perhaps you should communicate on this and "group"
together at one place, such as the Chester Manor Motel
in Chester.
