This Data Tree works backward with "Mom" being the first generation backwards; our grandparents being the second generation backwards, and so forth.
Some Interesting source Information:
The following information was found in some Wormbach churchbook records by Mike Grobbel, and he has kindly taken the time to send it to me, along with some translations from the German.
Generations 1 through 11 are ancestors of yours. I believe there are some minor "typos" in generations 9 through 11, namely Hannemann should be Hennemann and Maria Therese Peitz gt. Loch should be Maria Therese Peitz gt. Koch .. Hannemann verkaufte mit Kaufvertrag vom 05.03.1869 seinen gesamten Grundbesitz an: Willibald Roß aus Landenbeck und zog nach Amerika. Which when translated says: Wilhelm Arens gt. Hannemann, by a sales contract dated 05 March 1869, sold his land and property to Willibald Roß (Ross) of Landenbeck, and left for America ...................................... In 1833, the Henneman farm (in Werntrop) was 201 Morgen in size (about 125 acres) and by 1935, it had shrunk to 111 Morgen or 28 hectares (about 69 acres). Morgen = morning and it was the old measure of land used in this area. 1 Morgen equalled the area a farmer could plow in the course of a morning. However, the Sauerland is hilly and the soil is poor and rocky, so a Morgen in the Suaerland was a lot smaller that a Morgen elsewhere. The metric system helped solve this problem. The Hennemann farm was originally created by splitting off a portion of the neighboring Gnacke farm, at an unknown date prior to 1536 (the first written record of the Gnacke farm in Werntrop was in 1373). >From the tax records, it is clear that the Gnacke farm remained larger and more profitable than the Hennemann farm. Anna C. Hennemann married Johann Jodokus Berlars on 17 Oct 1738 in Wormbach. His father, Eberhard Berls, was a farmer in Landenbeck. Anna & Johann's son, Johannes Hennemann, inherited the Hennemann Hof. Johannes had a daughter, Anna Gertrude, who in turn inherited the Hof. She married Johann Hermann Laes gt. Beste, who became known as Johann Hermann Beste gt. Hennemann. Anna Gertrude and Johannes Hermann built a new house in 1818, in the "faschwerk" or half-timbered style, which had the following inscriptions in the exterior timbers (loosely translated): 13 July 1818 AD - Put up through Master Ferdinand Luick - married couple Hermann and Maria Gertrude Hennemann - God wills everything - give peace and agreement and eternal life to everyone inhabiting this house - St. Agatha stand by us in every emergency - (in the gable) Target God Glory - (in the middle) This house stands in God's hands - God wills it - save it from fire and burning - Their daughter, Maria Therese Beste gt. Hennemann inherited the farm and she married Johann Hermann Arens on 30 Jan 1821 in Wormbach. He was the son of Röttger Arens, who was a shepherd in the nearby (~ 1 mile) village of Kückelheim (not to be confused with the other village of the same name which is located southwest of Eslohe). His mother was Anna Catherina Wiesenschulte - according to the Lauber Index, there was no Arens Hof in Kückelheim, but there was a Wiesenschulte Hof, so he was probably known as Johann Hermann Arens gt. Wiesenschulte. Maria Therese and Johann Hermann had a son named Wilhelm Arens gt. Hennemann, who inherited the Hennemann Hof and married Maria Therese Peitz gt. Koch. She was the daughter of Johann Franz Peitz (a farmer in Lochtrop and formerly a "pension master"? in Bremscheid) who in 1813 married Anna Maria Elisabeth Koch - she was the hoferbin of the Koch Hof in Lochtrop and the daughter of Adam Koch. "Wilhelm Arens gt. Hannemann verkaufte mit Kaufvertrag vom 05.03.1869 seinen gesamten Grundbesitz an: Willibald Roß aus Landenbeck und zog nach Amerika." Which when translated says: :Wilhelm Arens gt. Hannemann, by a sales contract dated 05 March 1869, sold his land and property to Willibald Roß (Ross) of Landenbeck, and left for America. ======================================================
