HEBREWS 1
1:1 God, who at various times and in different methods spoke in times past unto the fathers in the prophets,
1:2 Has in these last days spoken unto us in His Son, whom He has appointed Heir of All Things, through whom also He made the ages;
1:3 Who being the Brightness of His Glory, and the Exact Representation of His Substance, and Upholds All Things by the Word of His Power, when he had Made Purification of Sins Through Himself, sat down on the Right Hand of the Majesty on High;
1:4 Being made so Much Better than the Angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
1:5 For unto which of the angels said He at any time, "You are My Son, this day have I begotten You?" (Ps 2:7) And again, "I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son?" (2Sa 7:14)
1:6 And again, when He brings in the firstorn into the world, He says, "And let all the angels of God worship Him." (Ps 97:7)
1:7 And of the angels He says, "Who makes His angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire." (Ps 104:4)
1:8 But unto the Son He says, "Your Throne, O God, is Forever and Ever; a Sceptre of Righteousness is the Scepter of Your Kingdom.
1:9 You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your companions." (Ps 45:6-7)
1:10 And, "You, Lord, in the beginning have laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of Your hands;
1:11 They shall perish; but You remain; and they all shall wax old as does a garment;
1:12 And as a vesture You shall fold them up, and they shall be changed; but You are the same, and Your years shall not fail." (Ps 102:25-27)
1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, "Sit on My Right Rand, until I make Your enemies your footstool?" (110:1)
1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those about to inherit salvation?HEBREWS 2
2:1 Therefore, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should drift away.
2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken through the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by those who heard;
2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
2:5 For not unto the angels has He subjected the world to come, of which we speak.
2:6 But someone somewhere testified, saying, "What is man, that You are mindful of him? or the son of man that You lookout for him?
2:7 You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor, and didst set him over the works of Your hands:
2:8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet." (Ps 8:4-6) For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.
2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; so that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
2:10 For it became Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the Author of their Salvation perfect through sufferings.
2:11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all of One: for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brethren,
2:12 Saying, "I will declare Your name unto My brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto You." (Ps 22:22)
2:13 And again, "I will put my trust in Him." And again, "Behold I and the children who God has given me." (Is 8:17-18)
2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; so that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death , that is, the devil;
2:15 And deliver those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
2:16 For surely it is not angels He helps, but He helps the seed of Abraham.
2:17 Therefore, in all things He needed to be made like unto His brethren, so that he might be a Merciful and Faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
2:18 For in that He Himself has suffered being tempted, He is able to assist those who are tempted.HEBREWS 3
3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider The Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
3:2 Who was Faithful to Him who Appointed Him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
3:3 For this Man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has built the house has more honor than the house.
3:4 For every house is built by some man; but He who built all things is God.
3:5 And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later;
3:6 But Christ as a Son over His own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the boasting of the hope held firm unto the end.
3:7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, "Today if you will hear His voice,
3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness;
3:9 When your fathers tried me, in a test, and saw My works forty years.
3:10 Therefore, I was grieved with that generation, and said, They always go astray in their heart; and they have not known My ways.
3:11 So I swore in Hy wrath, 'They shall not enter into my rest." (Ps 95:7-11)
3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called 'today,' lest any of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end;
3:15 While it is said, "Today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation." (Ps 95:7-8)
3:16 Who having heard, did provoke, nevertheless not all those having come out of Egypt by Moses.
3:17 But with whom was He displeased forty years? Was it not with those who had sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
3:18 And to whom swore He that they should not enter into His rest, but to those who believed not?
3:19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.HEBREWS 4
4:1 Therefore, Let us fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
4:2 For unto us was the good-news preached, as well as unto those; but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.
4:3 For we who have believed do enter into rest, as He said, "As I have sworn in my wrath, they shall not enter into My rest" (Ps 95:11); although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4:4 For He spoke somewhere of the seventh-day oin this way, 'And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.'
4:5 And in this place again, 'They shall not enter into My rest.
4:6 Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter therein; and those to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief;
4:7 Again, He fixes a certain day, saying in David, 'Today,' after so long a time; as it is said, "Today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts" (Ps 95:7).
4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then he would not afterward have spoken of another day.
4:9 So then there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
4:10 For he who has entered into His rest, he also has rested from his own works, as God did from His.
4:11 Therefore, let us labor to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
4:12 For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
4:13 Nor is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight; but all things are naked and laid-bare unto the eyes of Him to whom we give an accounting.
4:14 Seeing then that we have a Great High Priest, who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
4:15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
4:16 Therefore, let us come boldly unto the Throne of Grace, so that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.HEBREWS 5
5:1 For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, so that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins;
5:2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on those going astray; since he himself also is encompassed with weakness.
5:3 And by for this reason he is obligated, as for the people, so also for himself, to make-offerings for sins.
5:4 And no man takes this honour unto himself, but he who is called of God, as was Aaron.
5:5 So also Christ glorified not Himself to be made a high priest; but He who said unto Him, "You are My Son, today have I begotten You." (Ps 2:7)
5:6 As he says also in another place, 'You are a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.'
5:7 Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of fear.
5:8 Though He was a Son, yet He Learned Obedience from the things which He suffered;
5:9 And being Made Perfect, He became the Author of Eternal Salvation unto all those who obey Him;
5:10 Being designated by God a High Priest after the order of Melchisedec.
5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to explain, seeing you are dull of hearing.
5:12 For when by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again what are the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
5:13 For everyone who still partake of milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
5:14 But solid food belongeth to those that are mature, those who through constant use of their senses being-trained to discern both good and evil.
