I bought enough Kauri-veneer to cover a new dining room table. The table we've been using is functional, but rather plain, with a faux-woodgrain formica top. The pieces
of Kauri veneer were only 6-3/8" wide strips, so I framed each piece with some strips of maple veneer. The hardest part of the job was finishing the table top to a flat,
glossy shine! Kauri has quite an interesting History. An ancient forest of Kauri, in New Zealand, was buried around 50,000 to 80,000 years ago & is actually being
mined, since it's buried.
