THE HARTSON FAMILY

THE HARTSON FAMILY, FATHERS NAME.

To the best of my knowledge the Hartson family came over from Hartshorne England. The Hartson name was originally derived from Hartshorne where in England it was common for people to take there name from the land on which they were raised. At some point in history the name was changed. I am not sure whether it was changed in England prior to the journey to the states or if it was changed after arriving. The family crest is three bucks head with a sable. Most of the data that I have is derived from the Hartson's that have settled in the Conesus, Groveland and Dansville NY area. I have spoken with relatives across the country. If you have any information that you would like to add to this data base please send as much information as possible. I reserve the right to verify any information prior to adding it to this page. Note at this point any names included on this page are a direct member of my family lineage. Please note that in the instances of Willard L. Hartson I have identified my father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather as they all shared the same name. It appears that the Hartson family liked to use the same name over and over as Anson and Arden are also used several times in the cemetery where the family is buried in Groveland.
