It’s Time That I Left TexasBy Judy Dye |

It's
time that I left Texas, but it's the hardest thing to do. You're
the only home I ever knew. To
all my friends in Houston town I'll bid a fond adieu. But
my heart will stay right here with you. I've always loved the ladies, yet it took me by
surprise When the fairest flow’r agreed to be my
bride. Oh our Life was something special ‘til she went playin' on
the side. That Cowgirl took me for a ride. Interlude
... No lyrics. I
thought; It's
time that I left Texas, but I can't leave my precious son. He's
the truest love I'll ever know. So
I stayed here in Houston town but, Lord, I felt so low, ‘Til
I got up and had some fun. I found the sweetest rosebud that Texas ever grew, Rode the Harley to the courthouse where we wed.
Then my Two-step gal went two-timin' and knocked me off my
feet. I swear she left me on the floor. Interlude ... No lyrics. And
so It's
time that I left Texas, but it's the hardest thing to do. You're
the only home I ever knew. I
hope my friends in Houston town will toast me with their brew. I'll
tip my glass and think of you. |
