The Irondequoit Eagles

In 2001, the West Irondequoit Board of Education approved the change of Irondequoit's mascot from the Indians to the Eagles. On May 3, 2002, the Indian name was officially retired and the Class of 2002 was the last class to use the Indian name. More information can be found on the West Irondequoit School District web site.

Our Eagle logo was selected from many entries in a logo competition. It was created by Helen P. Berry of Helen P. Berry Graphic Design, 70 Kings Gate South, Irondequoit, NY 14617 ((585) 266-7842).

As you can see on our site, we have not changed many of the earlier pages, so there are still many references to our proud heritage as the Indians.

Beginning in the 2002-2003 season, we now compete as the Irondequoit Eagles. While the heritage of the Indians is still strong, we continue to be dedicated to the healthy combination of athletics and academics as the Eagles.
