Interactive Panoramic Viewer : Rochester, New York   c. 1900

Downtown Rochester -- notice the aqueduct -- before electricy, it powered "The Flour City".

You can scan back and forth by dragging your mouse over the picture.

Requires a Java enabled browser.

New demo, improvements pending ( it works but it's a little aggrevating ).

Before Rochester was the "Imaging Centre of the World" ( before Kodak and Xerox ) the aqueduct powered "The Flour City"'s flour mills.

The aquaduct, a silent tribute to The Great Roman Empire engineering feats -- largely unnoticed by people living there -- still standsin downtown Rochester, New York.
