Jim DeRogatis is the Co-Host of "Sound Opinions," on Chicago Public Radio station WBEZ, 91.5 FM.  "Sound Opinions," billed as the world's only rock 'n' roll talk show, can also be heard on various National Public Radio affiliates. In addition to being a pop music critic at the Chicago Sun-Times, he has authored several books about rock 'n' roll.

 

 

Featured On-Air Personality: Terri Hemmert. On-Air Personality, 93.1, WXRT-FM Chicago

 

Terri Hemmert is an award-winning broadcaster who has devoted over 30 years to her profession. Terri made radio history in 1981 when she became the first female morning drive personality in Chicago on WXRT-FM. Currently Terri hosts mid-days on WXRT and produces ŌBreakfast with the BeatlesĶ, ChicagoÕs longest running show devoted to the Fab Four. Terri inspires new talent teaching at Columbia College Chicago and works with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on music education programs.

Michael C. Keith is the author of over 20 books on electronic media, as well as a published memoir. He is co-founder of the Broadcast Education AssociationÕs Radio Division, was director of the communication program at Dean College, and served as an invited professor at George Washington University and Marquette University. Prior to joining Boston College, Keith served as Chair of Education at the Museum of Broadcast Communications.   RADIO STATION – 8th Edition was just released this summer.

PPM: An Overview

The Portable People Meter (PPM) has begun to provide new insights into how audiences respond to the various programming elements radio stations offer. Learn how data is collected, how accuracy has improved compared to the diary method of lore, and what challenges have been presented.
