This panel will look at how some of the latest technology is changing the way we conceive music and asks whether artists, who can now reach their fans directly through the advent of social media sites, have any need for major labels at all.

1. Reaching the Goal – Are We There Yet?

 

Live touring and the music festivals are back for young artists and are now an integral part of a career, again. This panel will ask how young bands (Arcade Fire, Mumford and Sons, the Black Keys), who now have the potential to tour for years to come, change the way we think about festival appearances and sustaining a touring career. This panel will also look specifically at how music festivals, whether it be Woodstock, Coachella or CHAMPSFEST, have captured the imagination of artists and fans from generation to generation.
