The beginning is a good place to start. The Declaration Of Independence, though more than 200 years old addresses issues that the founding fathers, and martyrs decided worthy. and important enough to go to war against the mightiest nation in the world at the time, Great Britain. The modern-day revelation and wonder, is the fit. This project began as a discussion clarifying the distinction between the 'concept' as presented by the Declaration, and the final 'law' as represented by the U.S. Constitution. That was easily and quickly verified, however an unexpected event occurred during the research; We re-read the entire document, word for word making sure that there was complete understanding. The idea of drafting a new modern Declaration addressing the contemporary economic/social/political imbalance existing both in pre- and post millennium America is not a new idea, but not one that was ever taken too seriously. That was then, this is now. The current state of affairs has given overwhelming merit to the idea, and the most recent betrayal of America, Humanity, The Peace of the Planet, the Respect of Nature, and all creatures that reside here, by the regime that empowers the current holder of the office of the President Of The United States: George W. Bush, Himself included, has demanded it. Therefore; When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. |
