The Connect-A-Kid program is a mentor program designed to help students. The long term goal of the program is to improve student's self-image and positive school experiences so that they will desire to stay in school. The short term goal of the program is to bring about needed social and academic changes in students so they may be more successful in their regular classrooms.
Caring adult volunteers who are good listeners will act as mentors. Mentors will commit at least 15 minutes a week in direct contact with the Connect-A-Kid and monitor both academic progress and attendance.
We have planned luncheons for mentors and their Connect- A-Kids for October, December, February, and March. Any donations to help fund these activities will be greatly appreciated.
