Portions of the Luce Line State Trail in western Hennepin and eastern Carver counties that were closed for construction this summer have reopened One portions of the trail had been closed to allow the Minnesota Department of Transportation to install a new trail bridge in Long Lake over the Burlington Northern Sante Fe railroad tracks and what will eventually be the rerouted Highway 12. There is till some finish work to do on the bridge, approaches and trail surface.
The trail also was rerouted most of the summer just east of Watertown due to the replacement of the Carver County 10 bridge which was completed in early September.
In addition to the two bridge closures, 20 miles of trail between Plymouth and Watertown were resurfaced this past summer with a new limestone veneer.
