bullet  General Notes:

Andrew was the descendant of William Bletsoe, immigrant, Bedford, England in 1623.

Crossed the river at Memphis and settled at DeGray, AR in 1849 (Clark, Co)
When the war broke out Andrew joined the Army and went back to MS and fought around Vicksburg. This is where he got wounded. It happened near the end of the war around Vicksburg. they were fighting in the woods. They were standing behind trees and lying beside logs shooting at the Yankees. Andrew was standing behind a big scaly-bark hickory nut tree and as he aimed his rifle to shoot, a bullet hit the tree close to his head and a piece of bark from the tree hit him in the face. He had a scar on his cheek after the place healed. His folks were real glad to see him when he came home from the war but he didn't like to talk about the war. If no one was around he would tell his grandson John a few things like when they were fighting and how they would yell when they charged the Yankee lines. They called it the Rebel Yell.
then he would yell or yodel to show how they gave the yell when they were fighting.
