Reclaiming Freedom The purpose of Reclaiming Freedom is to provide a place and a program that is rooted in the Word of God to help people overcome hurts, habits, hang-ups, addictions--life controlling problems. It is a place to find support with others who have overcome through Jesus Christ and to reclaim the freedom they (we) have in Christ Jesus. The program is designed to bring about a lasting change based on God's grace, not man's efforts. Come and join with others who have been "reclaimed" by Jesus Christ.
The program uses the Scriptures with the "Celebrate Recovery" curriculum based on the eight principles found in the Beatitudes:
Realize I'm not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable.
Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.
Consciously choose to commit all of my life and will to Christ's care and control.
Openly examine and confess my faults to God, to myself, and to someone else I trust.
Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects.
Evaluate all of my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for the harm I've done to others (except when it would harm them).
Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and gain the power to follow His will.
Yield myself to be used by God to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and my words.
