.) I drew this dragon when I was 13 years old. I used a papermate ballpoint pen. I was studying Albrecht Durer's art and Bosch, and my last name was Cammarano back then in 1978.

.)This is also a drawing I made at age 13, 1978, with the name Cammarano. Here is a drawing I made from a live model posing, my great grandmother, or Nana. She was born on Abraham lincoln's birthday day, and she lived a month away from seeing her 104th birthday. I was in college when she died. She was full of life until the end!

.)This is another drawing I made with ballpoint pen, and it was done between ages 13 and 14, finished in 1979. I believe Bosch and Star Wars movie influenced the creatures, if I remember right! This is is a section of a larger drawing called" the Vision," under the name Cammarano again. I was a busy young artist back then! I was brought up Catholic, became Bahai, and then became Muslim, and now I am just not really that attached to any organized religion, and a feminist. Religion is just a tool to connect to God, in my opinion. It has to be a personal relationship you form with God, and each of us finds a different way to connect because each of us is unique.

.)This is a ball point pen drawing I did at age 13 again, and it is the end of the world, book of revelation style. I studied Durer's prints of the four horseman in the book of revelation. I have a sense of humor in the fact that I have the composers: Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, recomposing first on Judgement Day!

)Here's a quill pen and ink drawing I did when I was 15..........Catholic symbols used.

.) Here's a quill pen and ink drawing I did when I was 15 called "The Universe". I was reading Carl Jung and James Hillman and used perspective for the first time in this drawing, and I saw Star Wars and was influenced, I think ET was out back in 1980 too. The Christian Symbols are invaded by secular ones and existentialism, and Salvador Dali's surrealism. Also, I put the DNA strand in the form of light particles and waves into the mix, and the dualism of spirit vs. matter. This doesn't show the light going into the dragon's mouth, or the dog at ET MonaLisa's feet either, but it is there in the drawing. I was thinking of God as Light in the form of the sun.It is all about mythology and religion and science, life and death and its meaning..

.) Here is my son, Elliot, and his cat. He is drawing a rocket. This was b aook illustration I made for him about a magic cat who makes his drawing of a rocket become real and they go to kitty cat land where cats talk and meet an angel. We like cats a lot. Elliot is a good artist too. That cat was named Matisse beacuse he ate holes in clothes. We have other cats now: Jasmine (also called "Jazy-cat"), Dot and Dash(sitting on my shoulder at this very moment!), and a dwarf bunny named Dusty..........and 4 fish. :0)

.)This is a conte crayon drawing that is recent, and not finished, and influenced by Frida Kahlo and Judy Chicago's female-oriented art. I always imaged babies growing under the roots of trees like fruit ready to hatch organically into existence. I have one son, and I felt like a tree when I was pregnant.
