Heavy Duty Engines

All Engines will be dissembled and cleaned. They are then visually inspected and measured for size and wear against known specifications. Only then can the decision be made as to which parts can be repaired and which must be replaced.

Block work involves Magnaflux checking for cracks, line bore main bearing and surface of the deck. If necessary we bore the cylinders to the next over-size. Leaving .003" material to remove with a hone for proper piston clearance. Once again another precise measurement before a final check of all finishes and sizes.

Crankshafts are checked for absolute straightness. If out of specs they  must be straightened either in a press or peened with hammer and chisel. Then the connecting rod journals and the main bearing journals will be ground to the next bearing size. Finally a check of the main bearing thrust. If it's not within specifications it will either be ground for over size bearing width or welded up and ground to original specifications.

Unlike over-the-counter production rebuilt motors, ours are held to exacting tolerances. These engines will give years of dependable service, and produce the power our customers have come to expect.
