Youth of today are becoming increasingly difficult to reach.   At Eastwood, we strive to approach  youth from a contemporary perspective while endeavoring to
teach uncompromised Biblical values and principles.  The youth ministry of Eastwood Baptist exists to
bring youth to a saving knowledge of  the Lord Jesus Christ and to encourage Christian youth to become fully devoted followers of Christ.  One weekly event is the innovative Youth Power Hour, which takes place at 6:30pm on Wednesdays.  The youth begin with a time of praise and worship, drama, and celebration and move to a time of opportunity to hear truth from God’s Word.  Our desire is to challenge youth to live a life that is guided by scriptural principles.  There are a number of major events during the year, one of which is generally a mission opportunity; another is a retreat setting. We also have youth choir on Sundays at 4:30pm, and youth Discipleship Training at 5:30pm on Sundays.  God is doing some incredible things, and we want you to be a part of it!

Grace Notes (from April Newsletter)

Every time I sit to prepare an article for this newsletter I am overwhelmed by all the good that God has blessed us with. Not only my family but the Eastwood family. In my mind this is reflected very clearly in our worship. More often than not we begin our worship each week with a welcome song. Occasionally it will be one of my favorites, “The Family of God.” I don’t ever remember singing it with a sad heart. Now that’s not to say that I never have experienced grief or emotional challenges within God’s family. To be sure, there is enough strife in this world to affect us. But even during trying times the joy of the Lord or rather the joy that comes from knowing the Lord abounds. Do our hearts overflow with joy because we know Him? Is this joy displayed in everything we do and say? Or do the challenges of life overshadow the light that offers us fellowship with one another? (1 John 1:7)

As we reflect on the past month and remember all that God has done to involve us in His Kingdom I challenge us to become more actively involved in His Kingdom work. There is room for growth in all areas of the music ministry and Jesus said if we lift Him up He would draw all men unto Him.  What a promise! What a challenge for us! From the young to the young at heart there is a place for serving the King! I pray that the joy of the Lord will overwhelm you this month as we seek to please Him.
