We can become a Christian by coming to a point in our lives when we turn from our sinful way and place our trust in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, as our personal “Lord and Savior”.

To become a Christian, you must:

1 Realize that God loves you.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  John 3:16 NKJV
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 NKJV

2 Recognize that you are a sinner.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”  Romans 3:23 NKJV

3 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 6:23

4 Repent of your sin.
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”  Acts 2:38 NKJV
“but unless you repent you will all likewise perish..”  Luke 13:3 NKJV

5 Receive Jesus Christ as your personal “Lord and Savior”.
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  Romans 10:9 - 10 NKJV
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  Romans 10:13
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door,
I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me”. Revelation 3:20 NKJV

You can receive Jesus Christ right now by faith through prayer (talking with God).  God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.  The following is a suggested prayer:

 

Lord Jesus, I know I’m a sinner.  I need You in my life.  Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins.  I’m sorry for my sin and I turn from my sin right now, as I turn to You.  Please forgive me for my sin and come into my life as Lord and Master.  Take control of my life and make me the kind of person You want me to be.  In Jesus’ Name I pray,  Amen.
