             The Eastwood Baptist Church was founded and constituted under the name Fellowship Baptist church, Sunday, May 1, 1977 with 120 charter members and three awaiting baptism. On June 8, 1977 seven acres of land on Drewry Road was purchased and the name was changed to Eastwood Baptist Church. Eastwood is a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Association and the Southern Baptist Convention.

             The Groundbreaking ceremonies for the multipurpose education building were held on October 13, 1977, and the building was dedicated on August 6, 1978.

             On Sunday, March 7, 1993, Eastwood voted to proceed with plans for a new worship center at an approximate cost of $590,000. The Challenge to Build program was used to raise funds. The Challenge goal of $300,000 was met by the end of the commitment period. The new worship center was dedicated on June 5, 1994.

             The present resident membership of Eastwood is 475, with a Sunday School enrollment of 544. The Lord’s blessings have not only come with numbers but with a spiritual renewal and revival in the lives of His people at Eastwood. To God be the glory, great things He has done!
