Congratulations
to Joel Banyai for his first ECIRS win and overall RAISSE
Shootout Champion! Here Joel accepts the trophy from Bryan Herter
of PCM for Less!

We
didn't know they made trophies that big Joel! Joel made his way
up the ladder taking out all who stood in his path - Great job!
Rob
Hamilton and His wife Joanne were again awesome hosts! We all
had plenty to eat all day. We were so lucky the weather held out
because it wanted to rain all day long and politely waited until
we were done to let go...must have been payback for last year!
The
Hamilton's provided RAISSE goodie bags AGAIN - and they were AWESOME
heavy nylon bags with the club's logo embroidered on them...First
class! The COMPANY WAS OUTSTANDING!
Thanks
to all who attended - we had over 30 cars registered and several
"drive ups" the day of the event. The track owner himself
came and went over the plan for the day plus gave us unlimited
time trials till our elimination rounds. - As always NYIRP continues
to be a great host facility.
Full
Shootout bracket ladder is
here (copy of Karl's page) of which Joel is the 2005 Champion!
We
ran the event a little different, some liked it and some didn't
(Nab?). The brackets were run off a qualifying session of three
rounds. We were able to run open time trials as well.
Once qualified, the ladder was set up with the fastest against
the second fastest and so on down to the slowest against the second
slowest. We thought it worked out quite well.
Bryan
got knocked out by Gene Zebley, think Gene tree'd him. Hamilton
himself went 3 rounds which is a first for him at a RAISSE event!
The final 4 were Nabster, Kenderizer, Cool Hand Jeff Diener and
Joel Bonsai. With Joel taking the big trophy home!
The
big dog and puppies got to be allot of fun. We decided to mix
them up as many of the cars had left early. We had 16 cars left.
We ran a handicapped pro-tree (.500 pro-tree) which we thought
made it real interesting. It looked like everyone had fun with
that.
Loved the handicapped pro-tree it added some excitement! It went
round robin and it ended with Nab and Servati at the final round
- Servati red lighted and took home the Little Dog trophy while
our 2003 Shootout Champ Nabil Guffey took home the Big Dog trophy!
Bob
Metcalf, the track owner, really likes to see us have a good time.
He enjoys the Impala club and even said after the awards that
the ECIRS and Impala crowd was the best group/car club that he
deals with. "You guys really had it together and KNOW how
to follow the program." We had several track officials approach
us and say how they look forward to this event. They never know
what we are going to do next!! They almost enjoy it as much as
we do. Now THAT makes for a fun day!!
We
really want to thank those RAISSE and UNYISSO members who helped
put this event together!! It would have been a bear to pull this
off without your help, Dave Wilson, Dave, Nick and Michele Servati,
Mike Wallace, Marty and Jeremiah Langen, Luc Cullen, the Hoffmans.
Of course we could not have done it without Joanne's event coordination
and Robbie's help.
Additional
thanks to the event Sponsors, Nu-Way Auto Parts, Hahn Automotive,
Castle Products, Fleetpride, and PCM for Less all of who contributed
to the success of the event - please thank our sponsors by utilizing
their products and services in the future!
We
also want to thank the attendees who donated a little extra to
help us out. You all know what it takes to put this together and
the costs involved. It was greatly appreciated to have your help!
For
those that could not attend but paid, we know some of you have
said not to refund the money as it helps us out. Thank you, it
is appreciated. For those that haven't responded, we still have
your goodie bags please e-mail Rob robh242@rochester.rr.com or
raisse@rochester.rr.com. Event T-Shirts are still available if
you want one contact
Rob!
Thanks
to everyone for making this a successful event!!!
Hope
to have an even better event next year!!!
Hope to see you all next year!
