The Biggsville United Presbyterian Church was founded in 1866, having served as a mission station for seven years. We have been at our current location since 1906. Our congregation includes several families that have been members for 5 or more generations.

The South Henderson Church, forerunner to the Biggsville United Presbyterian Church, was formed on July 4th, 1835 with 59 charter members. While South Henderson Church has not been active since 1945, we hold annual services to celebrate our heritage. |
| Monmouth College in Monmouth Illinois was formed in 1853, by the members of the South Henderson Church, lead by Reverend Robert Ross. Today Monmouth College is a private liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. |  |
